Job Purpose:
  • To provide a high level of support on regular and ad-hoc reporting and functional analytics for the Europe, Asia-Pacific and US regions of Premier Farnell Group.  To be a functional lead (Specialist Area) for the Reporting & Analytics team – (Specialist Area = Marketing & Customer Analytics, Supply Chain Analytics, Sales and Forecasting, Pricing Analytics).

  • Recruitment and development of team members

and support the team with the delivery of complex ad-hoc queries and reports as required and to agreed levels of service and quality.

  • When required, routine data extraction. Manipulate data and provide reports in line with customer requirements.
  • Building relationships with leaders across business within given specialist area, including building ongoing knowledge of specialist area
  • Delivery of large scale complex analytics projects in specialist area.
  • To learn and understand the complex databases and data extraction techniques used in order to produce meaningful reporting.
  • Responsible for process documentation and standardisation within team
  • Automate standard reporting wherever possible.
  • Support through analytics the delivery of multiple concurrent projects.

 

  • Coaching and mentoring junior colleagues in both technical and commercial awareness.
  • Working with stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones.
  • Effective use of complex data tools
  • Ability to deal with complexity and highlight roadblocks at an early stage.
  • Developing methods of data analysis and associated reporting that are relevant to business needs
  • Working to tight deadlines
  • Understanding work which can be simple in principle but is conducted within a complex environment
  • Sharing knowledge, processes and disciplines across the Analytics & reporting Team
  • Working within a rapidly changing business environment
  • Responding to business requests whilst conducting core work to a high standard
  • Holistic view of the team workloads to avoid duplication direct from stakeholders.
  • In depth commercial experience of at least 1 of:

- Marketing Analytics

- Supply Chain Analytics

- Sales Support Analytics

 

  • Advanced level Excel (6+yrs experience) – visual basic a bonus.
  • Advanced SQL – either MS/Oracle/Teradata etc. 4+yrs experience.
  • Advanced SSRS required, SSIS and SSAS a bonus.
  • Manager of teams of 6 people
  • Experience working in an international organisation
  • Exceptional written and verbal English language skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate with senior leaders and peers locally and remotely across multiple time zones.
  • High levels of accuracy and numeracy.
  • A working approach based on a strong desire to understand the work and not just follow a process.
  • Customer focussed.
  • Experience of quality control / UAT on regular and ad hoc report delivery for own work as well as Junior Analysts.
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Qualified by education or experience.
